クラシックバレエからサイケデリックトランスへ。運命に導かれた男RYOKAN 2歳の春、気持ちの赴くままに踊っていたが、実はその踊りがクラシックバレエだと知る。 4歳の秋、彼のバレエの才能に周囲は100年に1人の逸材だと騒ぎだす中、RYOKANは自分のダンスに疑問を持ち始める。 6歳の冬、「このわだかまりはなんだろう？ってそれはもう365日考えててハゲそうだった」と後に彼は答えている。 そして6歳の夏、運命が動き出す。 神奈川県の藤沢駅前で流れていたサイケデリックトランスに出会い当時通っていた幼稚園の初恋相手「リカちゃん」にサイケデリックトランスを熱心に聴かせるも普通の幼稚園児に理解さるはずもなく気味悪がられ彼の初恋は終わり「全部サイケデリックトランスのせいだ！」と身体中に走る稲妻のような衝撃を受けサイケデリックトランスと真正面から向きあう事になった。 彼の代表作「リカちゃんはサイケデリック」はその時のエモーショナルな気持ちを曲にしたものだ。 つづく

 

 

RYOKAN　（OOOD, Iboga Records）

 

A member of full live Psy-Trance act OOOD, based in the UK.

His musical career started as a violinist/drummer, progressing into a vinyl DJ after a psychoactive visit to Goa in 1993. Joins his good mates OOOD in 1999.

 

OOOD released on early Goa labels such as Flying Rhino and Phantasm, becoming the only band ever to perform at the legendary Pagan party in London.

Over time, their live sets became famous for its full “live-ness”, literally bringing the whole studio on to the stage, smashing parties worldwide, whilst releasing 6 albums and multiple singles and collaborations on the way.

 

These days OOOD is signed to Iboga Records, collaborating with big talents, and still bringing half the studio onto the stage!

 

Ryokan played frequently at UK’s largest and oldest trance event Tribe of Frog, working as a resident DJ during those years.

Organiser of super underground, multi-genre JellyFish with his good mate Pieman.

He has now returned to Japan to get some sunlight!
